If what’s keeping you from getting a website for your business is the idea that it’s not relevant for you, we say: websites are for everyone! Sure, it may be easiest to imagine what you’d put on the website of a restaurant or retail shop, but that doesn’t mean that other business types couldn’t also benefit from staking their claim on the web. To illustrate this point, we’ve collected nine business types that people don’t always think would need a website, and why we think they do:
Established site Edicy has recently relaunched under the name ‘Voog’, but it’s still a fast and simple website builder that will help you to establish an online presence in the blink of an eye. Voog doesn’t come with the most all-encompassing user experience, but its free trial version does offer free lifetime hosting, generous storage space and allows you to register more than one editor in order to manage the site.
Most Common Purchasers, Most Lucrative Service Areas - One of the most neglected areas for all types of local business owners is evaluating target audiences and buyer personas. Everybody seems to have the initiative to ponder it. Some have what it takes to successfully evaluate it. But very few have the gumption to take action based on the results. But for business owners and operators who take the time to nail down their most successful target audiences, and their prime buyer personas, a good Website Designer will have a much better chance of building a business website that entices not just random internet traffic, but the most profitable and viable internet traffic.
Especially if you are self-publishing a book, a website can really be key for drumming up publicity around your work. Reporters and bloggers are very busy people with demanding schedules, and it can be hard to keep their attention for very long. For this reason, you need to be able to direct them to your website with a link in an email or a URL on a business card. They might not have time to hear your whole elevator pitch in the moment, but giving them a way to learn more on their own time can make all the difference.

However, they don't understand that all kinds of people use the internet to access information. The internet, unlike advertising mediums does not target a set demographic. Magazines, Newspapers, Television, Radio — are all demographically based. Family Circle will always target women between the ages of 25 and 35 that have young children. Country music radio stations target a specific audience as do Cable news programs or shows like Sesame Street.
Consider Your Fonts — Papyrus may look cute on your kid’s 5th birthday party invite, but it doesn’t look great on your website. Luckily, most website builders themes will only use fonts that designers have already vetted for readability and looks. One important tip: Sans-serif fonts — the ones without the extra little flourishes — are generally easier to read on the web.

When you spend the majority of your day in the great outdoors, the world wide web is probably the furthest thing from your mind. But the types of advertising landscapers typically use—from car magnets to lawn signs—work best when they direct the viewer to a website where they can take their time learning more. A great landscaping website should include services, pricing, and high-quality images of beautiful results customers got from the company.
From those “elsewhre”, the first one was Webstarts. Great designs – really great to my taste and needs, easy designing tools – all of the best for a mere user. However: there was a time that my sites (had 3) just… disappeared. When inquired about why, no answer was ever received, even after multiple reminders, though someone signed as Adam was constantly sending me eamils about upgrading.. Until one day a new email came from them signed by a new name. This new name was real, there was a person behind it, very quick and eficiente. He explained that the reason was a supposed inactivity of my sites. Gee! Those were my sites not blogues, for God’s sake! Why should one be fiddling with the sites if there was nothing new to tell? It seems they understand “activity” as upgrading only. Well, this new guy fixed everything quickly, I thanked him… and seveeral months and several emails insisting on na upgrade later, my sites disappeared again. They proved themselves to be simply not reliable.

Doing what your competitors do is not always necessary or even wise. However, one important reason you need a website is to stay on par competitively. Since many customers rely on search engines to find products or services, you need a website to have a chance to show up among their search results. If you don't have a website, you give your competitors the advantage of drawing new business from new customers who might have preferred your products and services had you publicized them better.
The development of the site is the actual "building" or putting the graphics, text, links and codes all together so you have web pages that look good and are informative when you see the site on the computer. This is the largest of the three costs and can ranch in price from $500 to $2000 typically. However, the cost of getting a functioning website is generally the same as putting a color ad insert into your local paper once or twice a year. That ad is seen and then gone. The cost of your website is a one-time investment for a tool you own and can continue to use for communication and marketing indefinitely. It is always up - and always accessible.
In the beginning, Facebook groups and Meetups were almost entirely how I built our local profile. Eventually, you’ll see the same people at different events and start becoming known. This builds confidence. Once you’ve done a few great websites, you’ll build a reputation. This is exactly what happened to me and how we got our ‘start’ in web design.
Bluehost offers great website security with a free SSL certificate and site backup in their larger plan. Designing websites for small businesses is certainly a niche market. It requires a very different mindset than designing for corporations, and we believe that it is the far more human element involved in the work that makes it such a rewarding undertaking for us. All things considered, the Internet is a pretty vast place, and it’s always growing. For almost any product or service you offer, you will find yourself competing with hundreds, thousands, millions or billions of other websites. Feeling lost in the crowd should not be the sense you get from working with your web designer. Rather, it should be their sincere interest in your business needs, and their skill at what they do that will enable your website to shine out amidst all the others. At Solas Web Design, we welcome the opportunity to prove ourselves worthy of your trust, and hope to be learning the complete details of your small business web site design needs soon!
I always comes down to it depends. I understand, due to themes and plugins you might not need a web designer. But asking suggestion from designers is good as they have great idea of what works and what doesnt work for different type of audience . Web designers are always required in tech startups(google, amazon, facebook) where scaling of products is a major issue and it requires experts.

For example, if you’re trying to get a jewelry website ranked well in Big Horn, Wyoming (population 490) then ‘little Johnny’ could be your web guy. However if you want that jewelry website to rank well in Houston, Texas or nationwide on Google – forget it…it isn’t happening unless you hire the right professional (and be prepared to spend a lot of money).

I think this is great content, full of value and helpful information. When creating a website, yes a word press or hiring a web designer to build a website for you is great also, although this to me is only best fitting for businesses that do not fully understand how the internet and marketing works. If you feel you need to spend thousands of dollars or even a dime to be honest to have a great website is completely fabricated and #fakenews created by website designers and so called digital consultants, to stay in business and keep there industry afloat. wwwDluxroses.com is a perfect example of not having a professional website designer build your website. Their business is booming not because of there website and how pretty it looks although I’m sure it would help them gain more customers lol but it hasn’t stoped them from growing because they got the business and marketing aspect right. Chance are “little Johnny, the computer savant” is not going to be able to help you think the way that your average customer or client would think. He can’t; he’s probably still got a lot of MUSH for brains. Didn’t YOU when you were 15-25 years old? Heck, my own brain didn’t clear from an adolescent fog until I was in my 30s. If your average customer or client is in the 25-50 year old demographic and making in excess of $100K a year – do you REALLY want “little Johnny” thinking on your behalf about HOW to get your business in front of those people?
Another common concern is that you don’t have much content to add for frequent updates or you don’t have time to blog. The short answer is that you don’t need to. Sure, more activity and frequently refreshed content can generate more interest, but any Web presence is probably better than none. Once you have a basic website, you can always add to it, as your business and resources grow.
Sitemaps come in two formats. XML sitemaps (these are made for search engine bots, helps search engines discover your content and is good to have from an SEO standpoint). HTML sitemaps are made for your “human” visitors (and what we refer to here.) A sitemap page is a non-fancy index page that lists all the web pages you have on your website. For example check out our sitemap page on https://digital.com/sitemap/.

The average cost for hiring a web designer varies greatly depending on the scope of the work, which may range from building a site from scratch to rebranding an existing one, as well as the amount of content and graphics the designer will create. In general, the more complex the project, the more time the design agency will have to spend. Because web designers often work on an hourly basis, the longer the project, the higher the costs; you can count on the web designer spending at minimum 10 hours to create a very basic website with just a handful of pages with few elements. Prices also depend on the designer’s skill set, the process, and the company’s rates. In general, the national average cost for a basic website package starts at $500, but a customized website can cost as much as $2,000 or more. Here are typical average hourly rates, broken out by the complexity of the work:
the rapid change of information on the site is possible at any time and anywhere in the world. In addition, with the help of a website, you can automate and qualitatively improve the process of ordering the products, logistics, etc. A well-thought-out automation allows you to save huge sums of money and optimize the processes of interaction in the company.
